Hi to all in Letterbox Land,
This is the question? How old is the oldest undiscovered letterbox that
is still out there somewheres?

I suspect MapSurfer holds a record for this, though I couldn't tell
you which of his boxes are likely winners.
The longest one of my boxes hasn't been discovered (so far as I know)
was planted on June 18, 2001. I hid it in Zimbabwe, though, and I
doubt anyone will even try to find it for another three plus years. =)

Wow! Zimbabwe......Not sure of where that is - Africa?! , That must hold
the record on being the most remote one. Maybe the Question should be .
Which undiscovered letterbox in the USA is the oldest? Budster of the

How do you know it's still there?

Well, it's never been reported as missing, so I consider that a good
sign. =) I'm FAR more likely to hear from people when my box is
missing than when it's actually there!

Which is the oldest undiscovered Letterbox that is in the USA that has
been checked on by its Placer and found to be in it's original condition
- undisturbed - except by such things as weather or surrounding
habitants.

We hid a box in North Dakota around the same time. Almost as
remote as Zimbabwe. No one has reported either way on that
one.

sounds like a challenge! Too bad it's snowing right now. Come spring
time I think I'll have to put the Hidden Pond LB at the top of my
have-to-find list. Then again, this time of year I don't have to
worry about bears like some of your other what-a-hike-that-was
letterboxes.

I have quite a few undiscovered letterboxes that are getting pretty old,
sitting in the back of my car!!! Guess I need to hurry and plant them before
they break the record!
